Yellow Brick Road Eye Shadow Tutorial Feat. Urban Decay Theodora Palette

 

 

This look is dedicated to all my Wizard of Oz fans out there, I’m a big fan of the movie so when Urban Decay released the new limited edition palettes designed after the movie I had to get it.  I choose only to get the Theodora palette because the colors bet suite my skin tone plus this palette is more everyday color so it will get some use.  I really hope you like the look I came up with, I wanted the focus to be the lower lid with the gold.  Tutorial video below =)

From My Lips | Lilac & Lavender Shades

Everyone who knows me knows that my favorite color is purple.  Since spring is upon us I decided to show my all-time favorite lilac & lavender lipsticks.  I know these shades can be very intimidating to women of color especially my deeper tone ladies, but I hope this video will help you in trying some of these shades.   I normally don’t use a lipliner for swatches, but in this case I used Jordana Kohl Kajal Lipliner in deep purple in a few of the lipsticks.  Those lipsticks are just a little too light for me to wear on their own so all I did was just slightly lined my lips and then filled them in with the lipstick for the blended look.  I will specify witch lipsticks I used a liner with, also I didn’t do any lip swatches with the glosses that’s shown in the video below because I don’t wear them on their own just over the lipsticks.

From My Lips | Nudes

I think I speak for just about everyone when I say that you can't go wrong with a good nude lipstick; it goes with every makeup look and there's a shade of nude to fit every skin tone.  For color reference, I'm the color sienna in clinique stay matte oil free makeup and NW50 in MAC studio fix powder foundation.  Quick F.I.Y, I did use a brown lip liner with the swatches so you can see how I would wear these lipsticks, but no gloss.
